Laser Welding Technology

In recent years, automobile manufacturers have more and more pressure in improving the  fuel efficiency since people are more concerned about environmental issues. More rigorous, more restrictive regulations brings technical challenges to industrial production and processing of materials. They include reducing the exhaust emissions, making the car more lighter and prolong the service life of parts.
Material progress brings unique opportunities for the production of stainless steel seamless steel pipe. Specifically, people require producers to produce the parts which must have more lighter weight, anti corrosion and meet the strength requirements. Besides, space limitations in the body emphasizes the importance of formability. Stainless steel seamless steel pipe are widely used for the exhaust pipe, fuel pipe, nozzle and other components.
The first step to produce the stainless steel seamless steel pipe is forming flat steel and then make its appearance to be tubular. After it become shaping, the pipe joints must be welded together. This weld affects on the formability of the parts greatly. So it is very important to choose appropriate welding technology to get the weld shape which could meet stringent testing requirements for manufacturing industry. Gas tungsten arc welding, high frequency welding and laser welding has been used in the manufacture of stainless steel seamless steel pipe.
Strip edge is melted in all steel pipe welding applications. Edge solidification occurs when pressing the edge together. But the unique nature of laser welding is high energy beam density. The laser beam is not only melting the material surface, and also produced a key hole that make the weld shape very narrow.
